That’s One Fat Dog
A Sawdust City special in the magical Muskoka moonlight. Fat Dog is not a tribute to a portly pup or a hefty hound but is in reference to the Fat Dog 120, a 124 mile long ultra marathon in South Western BC. This brew is to support Sawdust’s buddy David who ran the course this year.* Just thinking about that run is making me tired, and thirsty.
This Fat Dog pours as golden as one would expect with a wisp of a head imitating the evening over the lake cloud cover. An aroma assessment is missing in action, too thirsty to delay the inevitable first swig. Malty and quite fizzy, tastes very good. Not hoppy or bitter, like a lager but they replaced the sweet with fizz. A mellow malt, the fizz faded but a sparkle stays the course. Very smooth with a full body mouthfeel. A very good basic smooth and mellow malt ale.
