After an exhilarating day of white-water rafting there’s nothing quite like a nitro loco cocoa stout. Of course I wouldn’t know about any of that, I’m a two-motor boater of the wet the net variety, paddling is so passe. But perhaps this super sweet fudgy brownie brew will be a nice treat after shoveling out the driveway a few times today. I think my snowblower went with the canoe in our last yard sale.
We have quaffed a few Whitewaters in our day, shout out to their Midnight Stout.* And I do quite enjoy a nitro, don’t you know. This Sundae on a Monday after a Saturday Yard Sale covered off almost half the week.
Shake well and pour hard. But even with a cranky old shimmy and shake there was no pop or even a pfft. Pouring as hard as I can left me winded, but only minimal foam was produced. Not even enough froth to blow off. Nitro in limbo? A dark brownie pour, not quite fading to black.
An intense cocoa- aroma, this one is chocka block full of chocolate, fudgy for sure. First taste is a creamy chocolate vanilla dessert stout. Major cocoa with the vanilla taking the edge off this extreme cocoa bean scene. Basically an alcohol infused chocolate milk beverage. It is creamy enough to tempt me into a big swig but intense enough for me to know better. This one is a chocolate lover’s dream.
Very tasty but like many insanely flavoured brews the intenseness got to me towards the end. Certainly, much smoother than a whitewater run but perhaps they went a bit overboard on this raft ride?
