One honey brown goin’ down, straight from the Haliburton Highlands into my glass. As Jackie Gleason would say “how sweet it is”, * and of course the “it” he was referring to was life.

Not our reviewer’s actual pour. He’s not that good.
It’s another thirsty Thursday and COMDB are on the Crownsmen Show to add some 5% liquid fueled levity that only a cold beer and a cranky old man can bring. On today’s show the cold beer in question was HH’s award winning honey brown ale. It was a riveting discussion of a few memorable topics which I can’t recall at the moment, but let me assure you, it is a show not to be missed unless you have something else to do.
We did visit Haliburton Highlands on our Muskoka Brew Tour, and their Cali Common was certainly Cali but not at all common, and their Coffee Porter perked me up.
This brew was so tasty that it was gone before the camera crew (my IPhone) could take a pic of the glass. It was a beauty pour let me assure you. A slightly hazy amber with a full tan head, a pour any barkeep would be proud to call their own. Too bad there is no photographic evidence of my spectacular pour. A real shame.
Equal to the pour was the great amber caramel aroma. The first taste followed suit, great caramel malt with a very subtle sweet and a slightly bitter finish and aftertaste. Full flavoured, well balanced and extremely tasty. In fact this brew reminded me of their Cali Common. The touch of honey turned a run of the mill brown into the talk of the town.
