The title is a tip of the hat and a raise of the glass to rock’s Nobel Laureate* Bob Dylan and his album “Highway 61 Revisited”. * It is also reference to the two highways that intersect at North Bay, home of Gateway City Brewery. It is also thus named because this brew has actually been reviewed previously, see Highway Star.
We all know how hard it is to BBQ without a brew, so why try. For my hydration of choice I reached for an 11.17, what they call an India Session Ale. Fresh, light malt aroma with hoppy pine. It poured golden clear with a brief appearance by a thin head, a wisp of foam. This brew is nice and smooth light malt with a hoppy pine finish, a coniferous craft conclusion, I opine.
Chicken took exactly one 11.17 to crisp. good to know. A nice easy drinking ale with a zip line from a pine tree zing in the finish and it all works. It seems fitting that this pint’s portrait is positioned in the pines.
