How about those Blue Jays, first in the major league standings. Not only are they on the ball this year, they’re all over it. Bam Bam Barger’s big bat and Bo Bichette’s daily double. Every now and then a Springer dinger, and then there’s Vlad, who’s not doing half bad. But here’s something I just don’t get. You have Left Field, a baseball loving brewer, based in Toronto, but you can’t get their beer at a Jays game? What’s that all about? I mean there’s nothing wrong with a Beau’s or a Mill Street but shouldn’t I see an obvious Blue Jays brew like Bird Watcher on the shelves? Or a great catch for a double IPA play like Laser Show? *
Although I can’t enjoy a Left Field brew at a Blue Jays game, I can certainly quaff one while watching the Jays on my big screen, which was just what I did last night. And we all came out winners.

Crushed it
Crushed! pours a hazy muted orange with a home plate white head. A tropical pineapple juicy aroma with some hoppiness. Big time tropical juicy with bitters, not in sequence but all together in a bit of a fizzy monster mash. A bitter aftertaste as well. All in all, a good leadoff swig got this brew safe on first. As it evolved the fizz abated and the tropical passionfruit ** took over, bitters still in the game but in sequence rather than all together. A big swig actually accentuated the juice and pushed back the bitters a bit. After a leadoff single, the cleanup swig crushed it, for a home run of an IPA.
A great summertime suds, I just wish I could get one at a Blue Jays game.
