The Italian lights are certainly a highlight of my past trips. The beautifully lit canals of the Venetian, so romantic at night. Then there is the impressive stature of Ceasars Colosseum, even more impressive in the evening. And of course, those famous Italian fountains so brilliant especially under the lights at the Bellagio. *

Italian lights, beautiful.
Here we have another Italian light. This one isn’t in Italy but much closer to home, as in Niagara Falls, Canada. By the way, the Canadian Falls is much more impressive than the US falls, eh.
Silversmith (Niagara on the Lake) and Blackburn (Niagara Falls) have collaborated on this Italian Pilsner light, and since the breweries are a scenic 20 km bicycle ride apart (or a quick 15 minute V-twin ride) they have named this brew 20KM Away. One good thing about this beer name is I don’t have to call in the COMDB Translation Department on this one. Ciao boys.
As one would expect, this Italian light pours light and bright, golden and slightly hazy with minimal head. The aroma is malty grainy, a touch of corn seems out of place. First quaff is fizzy, malty and a super crisp dry finish. As progress is made the fizz is gone and what is left is a light malt with a dry finish. Still a bit of graininess but everything is well balanced.
This nice light Italian pilsner gave me a chance to reminisce about the old country a bit.
