Moose Boy in a House Coat on a Boat House

Moose Boy Coffee Stout

Amber Brewery

5% Alcohol

Out on the lake, at one with nature, and I gave a warm wet the net welcome to a couple of fat bass-tards tonight. All that net wetting whet my whistle for a frosty cold wobbly pop. How about a Moose Boy coffee stout in a house coat on the boat house. Is he with a fox in socks, on a box? * Sounds like some Dr. Suess juice being poured and scored. The makings of a tongue twister or a limerick for sure, but tonight I’m reclining, not rhyming.

As far as coffee stouts go, Farmer “death before decaf” Steve is offended by any coffee that isn’t black and in his cup, and he’s urned every drop. But he did think the moose looked “content and at peace with the universe.”  Yep, that bath robed swamp donkey is blow off some froth and I think I’ll join him.

This Amber is a dark black starless night kinda pour, with an ever so slight tan head.  A light watery coffee aroma is followed by a watery coffee first quaff, malt MIA and no dreamy creamy mouthfeel. Time for the moose to cut loose? No cream but lots of coffee. This caffeine quaff is starting to grow on me a bit. It’s a light stout, with lots of coffee, it has a nice coffee flavour to it. I expected creamy and got light watery but the coffee showed up in spades.

Coffee, strong and flavourful, no cream, no sugar, just the way Farmer Steve likes it.

Coffee is what this stout is all about.

*Editor’s Comment: The 1965 book “Fox in Socks” is by Theodor Seuss Geisel, aka Dr. Suess. It is a book of tongue twisters and starts out with a note that the book is dangerous and should be read slowly.
