Ok, where’s the pig? There seems to be some kind of name game being played here by the marketing mavens. Is it Blue Mountain Light Lager by Thornbury Brewing or is it Light Lager by Blue Mountain Brewing out of Thornbury? Coincidentally both breweries are located at 90 King Street in Thornbury which we assume is where King Brewing of Thornbury used to be located. But when I search up Blue Mountain Brewing (not the one in Virginia) I get Colio Winery. *

If found contact COMDB.
Where is Clark the Pig, the prize pig mascot and snout nosed face of the Thornbury brand? Is dropping the pig a pivot from their past porcine promotions or were they just running short on bacon? I kinda liked that big pig, of course I wasn’t the one that had to clean up after him. Time to take a pull on this post pig pint.
These blue mountains having nothing to do with the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, or those shade shifting mountains on a Coors Light can. These are in the Collingwood region, a veritable haven of craft brewers and downhill skiers.
This brew isn’t blue, but a nice golden hue. No snow or even frost on this mountain top. Definitely a malt forward aroma, slightly grainy too. First taste is surprisingly malty for a light with a lager sweet finish. A full mouthfeel that belies its lightness. The malt begins to settle down a bit but it is without a doubt a malter. It’s certainly smooth. Lots of flavour for a light.
If you want a light that doesn’t seem like a light, even though it technically is a light, have I got a light for you.
