Last night my old buddy Ian had the Jays, the Leafs and the Raptors all going at once. He had to ice down that channel changer hand after all those games but it was all worth it. Serve up a round in the win column. A TO triumvirate triumph.
A toast to the three winners was not just a nice to have, but a moral and legal imperative. A must do brew. A gold lager seemed like a logical choice, although totally arbitrary in nature and for no discernable reason. Anderson call their Gold a premium Ontario lager. They don’t call it a light but at 4.2 it is about as close to the light as you can get without going from Gold to Goldie. Lighter than your average brew, hey Boo-Boo. *
It pours a light golden gold Gold, clearly clear with some tiny bubbles bubbling up.** A head so thin you could cut yourself on it. A fresh mild malt aroma, the only other thing on the nose is my specs. A nice easy light malt body, smooth, with a slightly crisp finish. No hops or bitters, just a lingering light lager sweet. A light watery mouthfeel, it’s all coming together on this one to make for a crushable almost but not quite light lager. A lovable little lager. A stubby beer fridge lager stocker.
I like it I love it I want some more of it.***
