Moosehead tells us that JR 6.0 is “the energy drink of beers – high-octane, high-energy, and high-spirited! It’s the funcle (fun uncle) of the J.R. family,” * That brought to mind a joke that JF told at the last COMDB AGM.
Q: What’s worse than ants in your pants?
A: Uncles.
I think that’s a politically correct joke since I believe it works equally well for all genders and sexual orientations.
We previously enjoyed a James Ready 5.5, Moosehead’s no nonsense beer, so now it’s time to up the ante with the fun uncle and a 6% solution. Ready set, pour.
Golden clear beer, minimal head maximum golden. It definitely has a malty aroma. First taste is a full mouthfeel malty smooth with just a bit of a fizz and that’s all she wrote. No hops or bitters or any other seemingly unnecessary encumbrances. I was immediately encouraged to apply the big swig test which JR aced. No rough and ready this one, just a smooth customer. I just really enjoyed this full flavoured slightly stronger than most malt lager, bordering on a bock.
They say there’s strength in numbers and this brew is the proof.
