In town, and out on the town at Town, checkin’ out what’s goin’ down. At Town Brewery what is most likely goin’ down is a frosty cool adult beverage. We have sampled a few fine Town brews but I had never visited their brewery before, I guess that makes me the new kid in Town. Who am I kidding, I’m no kid.

Town time.
One thing I love about craft breweries, in addition to the beer, the vibe, and no kids menus, is the super accommodating and knowledgeable people who work there. Mel was swell, super helpful, she guided me through my options. We had previously quaffed a Quick One and rolled with Square Wheels. So as always I want to try something new, different, unique and not be repetitive. She suggested grabbing some Hang Time XPA, and Mel did well.
Back in the day it was Dr, J, of the ABA, soaring from the foul line with that amazing hang time as he slam dunked that multi coloured ball and posterized a slow unsuspecting center. MJ was a most capable successor to the good Doctor.* Me, I have exhibited some spectacular hang time while downhill skiing, unfortunately unintentional and with dire consequences. My golf approach shot has substantial hang time as well, a shot known as an elephant butt, due to it’s high and stinky nature.
Hang Time in a glass seemed to be more my speed. A light lemon bright slightly hazy pour with a slim foam head held high and hanging in there. A stone fruit citrus aroma, some hops in the play too. The taste is mild fruit with a watery mouthfeel. It has a lemon and/or pineapple tang to it, with a very dry finish. The lemony tang sequences into a dry finish with a nice bitter aftertaste. Not balanced but not trying to be, the fruit is the opening act to this XPA’s main event which is the X-tra dry crisp finish. A finish almost as dry as I was when I came in. Definitely refreshing goin’ down.
