When it comes to World domination, Bowie thought the man who sold the world  had been dead for years but he met him face to face in 1970. Cobain met him again in 93. * I have a theory about why the man who sold the world is so hard to find. I think it’s the classic case of over promising and underdelivering and he doesn’t want to give anyone a refund.

Of course, this brew from aptly named Danish brewer To Øl ** isn’t about a global yard sale, it’s “Whirl” domination. A first-place finish in a square dance competition you’re wondering? That’s certainly one spin you could put on the name, but this review is going in circles. It’s time to get around to popping and pouring this not for breakfast Danish. ***

A dusky orange pour, the head as elusive as the man who sold the world. An aroma of sweet juice, hops, malt all in a funky wisp of an aroma. First taste is candy tropical juice with a touch of hops and next to no bitters leading into a dry finish. A West coast pils styling. Minimal bitters maximum juice, this smooth juicer is at times session like in its drinkability, and that comment is coming from someone with considerable drink ability.

They call this one “whirl class” and they ain’t lyin’. To Øl has another brew to add to their super suds trophy case, and that makes two.**

*Editor’s Comment: "I thought you died alone, A long long time ago, Oh no, not me, We never lost control, You're face to face With the man who sold the world". David Bowie wrote and released the song and the album “The Man Who Sold the World” in 1970. The song didn't receive much attention as the B-side to his first big hit, Space Oddity, but has since been covered by many artists and is recognized as one of Bowie’s best songs. In 1993 Nirvana performed it as part of their Unplugged MTV live special.

**COMDB Translation Department Comment: To Øl means “two beers” in Danish.

***Editor’s Comment: Our Reviewer’s knowledge of the brewing process is limited to the final stage, the one known as consumption. Whirlpooling in beer brewing is a post boil technique which is often used to extract the intense hop aromas and flavours without adding bitterness.
