Summer time and it’s party shorts weather. I reach for my sunglasses to intercept the blinding bright light reflecting from my fish belly white legs. But have no fear, a farmer’s tan is on the horizon. In the meantime, my midday East of the sun location has created an afternoon thirst. Can a non-alcoholic beer do the job? Sounds like were bringing a knife to a gun fight!
This CA NA IPA is not our first Collective Arts zero percent experiment. Their NA Stout was nothing to shout about and their Hazy Pale Ale fared a bit better but a super suds rating eluded it. Will this IPA rule the midday? Time to leave this link laden lead in and score this pour.
A yellow hazy shade of zero with even less head than alcohol. It has an aroma of light watery citrus juicy. First taste is that light easy citrus juice, ultra session suds, but has an odd (not off) taste following with a fizzy finish. Fortuitously and fortunately the funky finish fades. An obvious hot weather thirst slaking big swigger. It seemed to be on the verge of that unwanted metallic taste that so many zeroes possess but never quite crossed the line.
Keep it very cold and drink it when it’s very hot. Not exactly super suds material but when it comes to zero boozers it’s a step in the right direction.
