At the cottage with no adult supervision, hot afternoon, and its 5 o’clock somewhere. You can fact check all of that if you want. Hot and muggy, seems like an IPA afternoon picnic on the boathouse for one is the ticket to ride*.
Just Like Collective Arts Brewery, some say that I myself am a fusion of taste and style **. And one way I support the arts is by drinking brews from Collective Arts, 6 reviews to date and more to come. Classy I know, that’s just the way I roll. This rainbow laser beam emanating from a skull is the work of Brandon Medeiros out of Oakville and is entitled Skull Series 23. Heady stuff.
I don’t usually suggest pairings, unless it’s me with a beer, but in this case some peppered salami with Kirkland Mixed Nuts (48% Cashews) and Simple Mills Almond Flavoured Crackers with Fine Ground Sea Salt, with some PIlaros Garlic Stuffed Olives and some Cracker Barrel Old Cheddar seemed to go nicely with this juicy IPA***.
This brew pours golden yellow with haze and bubbles both present and accounted for. A citrus hoppy aroma with a touch of booze. Just a bit of a head to go around the skull. Tastes citrus juicy fizzy and hoppy with a tart finish, not boozy but strong. Definitely thirst quenching for a hot afternoon, teams well with spicy snacks, and is probably best served to someone acquainted with IPAs. Not meant for newbies, rookies, or tenderfoots. The tart finish hung in there like “Dogs Playing Poker” above the fireplace.
An enjoyable traditional juicy IPA.
