Ok Collective Arts, listen up. I have said this before but I am not going to say this again. I figure there must be a few struggling, starving artists in Canada waiting for their big break. For you to give your beer can space to help them is a very Canadian thing to do. I am pouring your Canadian lager while watching hockey night in Canada, an extremely Canadian thing for me to do, being Canadian, born and bred with white and red running through my veins. And we all know the world needs a little more Canada. So I always look forward to seeing what Canadian artist is featured on your Canadian beer can which I drink in Canada while watching hockey night in Canada.

Now I have been all across this great country, from sea to sea to sea. I have visited every province, every territory. I rode my motorcycle from the western coast of Prince Rupert to the farthest East of Canada, the Isles de Madeleine (a ferry boat ride across in case you are wondering). And in all my travels to the big city lights and the small “blink and you’ll miss it” towns, I have never in all my years come across a place in Canada called Pescara. So why, oh why, is an artist from Italy featured on your new Collective Lager.   Hey CA, time for a little more CAnada on those brew CAns, eh!

And to make matters worse, the Leafs lose last night on a goal against in the last two minutes. Ouch. I am cranked up now for a cranky review, this brew better be good. One of our earlier reviews was of a CA lager, we gave their Audio Visual a spin on the turntable and enjoyed what came out, a regular sing-along. Maybe I will be singing a different tune with this brew.

This brew pours as clear as my nationality (see above). As clear as who I cheer for (see the pic). As clear as I am about CA using Canadian artists (you get the picture). Golden see-through with a thin bubble top of white. A light malt bread aroma, pretty standard lager fare. More malt on the tongue than the nose, bread malt with slight hops and sweet on the finish. OK flavour to start, easy drinking with a subtle sweet finish. It is lightening up to become an easy drinking clear cool quaff of almost a lager light. Socks still firmly in place and nothing to go in the mail for home. A standard lager with some Italian art on the can. And the Leafs lost, eh.
