Accomplished historical figures in the study of strange animals.
Darwin, Pavlov, Gowan. * They all dealt with some strange animals in their day and now we can add Merit to this auspicious list. Theirs is a different kinda animal. The ultra hip Sasquatch on the can may be listening to The Animals or The Eagles or Seal for all we know. Maybe even Gowan? Would that qualify as stereophonic ironic?
This tallboy tribute isn’t to some imaginary hairy backwoods wild man but to some very real homegrown hops. Sasquatch hops are the first to be grown in Canada. Merit’s Young Rival obtained super suds status as did their Get Lucky collab with Daft. Time to see if this Strange Animal can maintain the streak.
A hazy golden pour, frothful to the brim. Tropical citrus stone fruit juicy aroma with some of those homegrown Sasquatch hops on the nose as well. First taste is a light melon juicy with mild hop bitters, light enough to be bordering on sessionable This realization on my part immediately led to a big swig test, something this brew was made for. A second big swig was required just to be sure. It has the nice juice hops bitters sequence balance, all there but nothing as aggressive as any 7 foot tall forest dwelling beast. Surprising sessionable for a 7.1 percenter. Different maybe, strange, not at all.
