The Exchange has us on an Extension and when it comes to beer the COM are here to answer the call!
Farmer Steve likes his coffee a lot, hot and from the pot. For him there’s no such thing as Too Much Coffee Man.* He’s a caf-fiend that’s for sure, but also a bit of a purist. He’s not much for the old beans and malt combo. Me, I’m a two cups of Joe a day guy, and one and done when it comes to a brew to review. I love all beer, some more than others, but I am partial to a dark roast and a coffee porter checks that box.
The operator at the Exchange is connecting us to some black on black with a tan head tacked on top. The milk stout aroma smells super scrumptious. First taste is a full coffee body with a very slight hop sour finish, barely noticeable, odd but not off putting. It’s followed by light coffee aftertaste. By second swig we have a roast malt cocoa sweet coffee forward with a dry fizz finish.
Farmer Steve may be drinking coffee to keep the engine running but this is an end of the day wind down kinda cup of Java. No clouds in this coffee. And despite it’s average ABV this brew tends to have a mellowing effect on me, resulting in ex-tension so to speak.
