Rory wigging out.

Conventioning in Montreal once again, and our last wigged up and wigged out Crownsmen Cranky collab wrap and tap show ended up on the cutting room floor. An executive decision was made to film take 2 sans RB. To be fair to Rory, he was not there to defend himself, which teaches us a valuable life lesson best presented in the following Q&A.

Q: Who said life is fair?

A: No one……… Never.……Ever.

This time Jerrod was found in action (as opposed to MIA) and had his head and headphones in the game.

They’re back!

He subjected the Grand Dames Sipping Suds to the 3rd and quite possibly 4th degree in a series of rapidly executed controversial, dare I say, mercurial, questions. It should be noted that Angela and Candace handled all the leading and following questions like the champs they are, composed, professional and initially sober.

And the belle of the ball was a Belle Mer IPA, a brew not unfamiliar to us. Us COM have enjoyed a few Archibald’s brews out of Quebec City, in fact Ce-Boire was featured in our Cross Canada Coast to Coast Toast.

Our show time brew was a clear golden pour of four with varying degrees of head but certainly no shortage of topside surf. Juicy hoppy on the nose, a classic West Coaster. The first taste was a nice tropical juicer, and following it’s IBU rating with a more hoppy bitter finish to it. The bitters stood out at first taste but as progress was made the bitters came into line with the juice for a full flavoured well balanced IPA.

Six thumbs up and two thumbs down resulted in a requirement for some quantum physics level calculations to get to a final score. The Grand Dames’ President Candace was not impressed, as in 10 out of 20 not impressed, elaborating somewhat eloquently “IPA’s are not my thing”. However for the Grand Dame of the Grand Dames herself, Angela scored it love at first sip, with a 17. Jerrod and myself were surprisingly in agreement at 16. Add them up, take the total, bring the total over the four, divide and conquer and round it up and Bob’s your uncle and Betty’s your aunt, we end up with a 15 out of 20. *

Say 15
