Illiterate Librarians* are bad enough, but innumerate mathematicians, I mean they don’t even count.** To confuse the issue even more, those refined fools tell us “Trying to find a copy of Dan Brown’s The Da Vinci Code with the “help” of an illiterate librarian is a gosh darn nightmare.” It’s all horse feathers, balderdash and poppycock.
We have a full breakfast menu going here with a “toast” of Oatmeal stout and a Grapefruit IPA (RF says they have put real grapefruit juice into this brew). Sounds like a breakfast of champions***. What will they think of next, bacon flavoured beer? There is in fact bacon flavoured beer which sounds nasty and intriguing at the same time.
This hazy IPA pours dark golden hazy bubbly with bits and pieces in the float. A perfectly proportioned pour, no swollen head here other than my own. A nice tropical fruit aroma. Nice mouthfeel, grapefruit bitters (or are they pine?) settling into tropical fruit in the finish and aftertaste. No surprises here grapefruit/ pine like bitters, fruit but not very hoppy and a mild tropical finish. As the bitters fade the tropical fruit becomes the main feature. Part way through my tasting, during the 7th inning stretch, Blue Jays rally time, I had to take 5 pounds of fur and attitude for a walk. Got back in time to see a futile attempt at a 5 run comeback in the 9th, but I had the foresight to put my glass in the fridge so at least my brew was still chilly.
An enjoyable and tasty hazy IPA.
