A white tiger. Exotic, dangerous, unique, rare, poorly camouflaged, but nonetheless intriguing. White IPAS are typically hopped up Wit bieres. A combination that seems counterintuitive to this old quaffer, however I was surprised to see that the majority of White IPAs we have sampled have been super suds success stories. This one, not so much.
We have had a tiger by the tail, and in the glass, on a few occasions. There was our stroll down the Bangkok Crosswalk, and of course the 22 tigers fighting over one hot dog incident. Cameron’s tell us that this white tiger is “one powerful beast”. Unfortunately, it turns out to be a paper tiger.*
A golden pour with a white stripe across the top. A light hoppy scent with some spices present, hard to put a finger (or a nose) on the makeup of the aroma. The taste is a citrus juicer and a touch of bitters with a mixed aftertaste. NEIPA with some hoppiness and background spices. It’s like it can’t decide what type of beer it wants to be, more confusing than intriguing. The Wit starts to show up, floral spices and fruit bitter are not a great look in my book.
