White faced monster? Are they referring to the steep, narrow and rocky Couloir Extreme at Whistler? Perhaps it is the 108-foot-high Tsunami of a wave that Alo Slebir surfed late last year at Maverick’s? * No again. Apparently, the name is inspired by what they call a “legendary” wave on the Ottawa River. A river wave? Really? I guess you had to be there.

Hanging 10 toes and 108 feet.
As far as whitewater rafting goes, I get all the adrenaline rush I need from wetting the net and hauling in a whopper of a walleye. Luckily I don’t have to climb into a rickety old raft to enjoy Whitewater beer. Their Fish On porter was right on, and I tackled their Forest Trail from my big screen facing armchair, with some chips and dip, no paddle required.
A Canadian IPA, as in all Canadian ingredients I assume. Sounds good to me. Looks good in the glass too, a burnt orange gold, with an average head, white but not monstrous. The aroma is juicy not hoppy, tropical citrus. Tropical juice, mango citrus, with very mild bitters on the finish, which is aligned with the relatively low IBU on this one. A slick mouthfeel. Now the bitters are encroaching on the juice, what was once sequence is now a mix. If I go back to my high school Algebeer class, I think the correct equation is; bitters + juice = funk
An OK juicy IPA, nothing as extreme as a killer ski slope or hurricane surfing. More like a river wave.
