They are still there.
In 67 the Beatles were headed to Strawberry Fields and not just for a quick stop or a visit, but forever. Forever is quite a long time, especially forever together, and far longer than the Beatles were together. * It seems like forever is not in the cards for New Ontario Brewery either (aka Wildwoods) who after 9 years in operation are closing their doors for now and quite possibly forever.
Here at COMDB, the NOB (their beer and their bear) had a special place in our hearts (and our beer fridge) and we are sad to see them go. Their Oktoberfest was the best, and their Clothing Hoptional is another great option. Their Big and Juicy is as advertised, big bold and beautiful.
The strawberry fields we have picked this evening (pun intended, always) are Leisure Farms, a great family destination near Sturgeon Falls Ontario, and the provider of the fresh produce to produce this Sour. Now when it comes to Sours, although I have been called many things,** a Sour lover isn’t one of them. But I love, love me do a fresh strawberry and a slice of kiwi is the highlight of my fruit salad, so this fruit field concoction has the makings of a super suds sour, somewhat of a rarity for COMDB.
An orange hazy, some would say leisurely, pour. A light white crop-dusting field foam of a head. A faint strawberry with a traditional mild sour tang on the nose. First taste is light (just right) strawberry with a slightly sour tangy disposition and a flat finish, perhaps the kiwi conclusion. This is just the right mix of nice mild fruit with minimal fizz and a touch of tang, combining for a great fruit sour.
I would be A-OK with these strawberry fields going on forever, or at least for another Leisure Lane in my glass, Great sour, just like the scarecrow, outstanding in its field.
