He’s back!
He’s back! Yes, this brew is an official recommendation from Bud, the Elf on the Beer Shelf. And we all know what that means. It’s the start of the Cranky Old Christmas Countdown. Bud is sweet on sweets so he usually goes for the loco cocoa brews but it looks like he couldn’t resist all those evergreens. So it made some sense that himself the elf would go for Neon Trees.
The home team is Christmas crazy, I think our family tree is a pine.* And every evening the trees (plural) are more lit up than I am. At COMDB we’ve had lone pines and twin pines (twice). We’ve had a tree topper among the pines and we made a run for it through a forest that we couldn’t see for the trees, probably the same forest we got lost in. Time to get out of the woods and go to Town on this brew.
A creamsicle orange shade of extra pulp pour, thick and rich with a fine froth of foam. It has a citrus tropical aroma combined with some hoppiness, for a grapefruit nose. First taste is citrus tropical with no holds barred grapefruit hoppy bitters, all in good order. This juicer mellows a bit, smoother but the juice and bitters remain in balance just a bit less aggressive. It has a full semi-creamy mouthfeel. This one transitioned from a hoppy bitter customer to a citrusy smooth hoperator.
Bud is on his game, this three tree super suds was a good choice for our Cranky Old Christmas Countdown kickoff.
