On the farm everything is pretty down to earth. * You don’t give your livestock pretty names, a gelding is a gelding, no dickin’ around. So, it’s no surprise that the Anderson clan down on the homestead have some straightforward brew names. There was their cream ale, which they called Cream Ale. Their amber, aptly named Amber. And of course, their stout which they called, you guessed it, Stout. Their brown wasn’t uptown or downtown, just Brown. It would seem they have continued the trend with their Juicy IPA but that may be a misnomer. I shall explain.
A hazy orange pour has me anticipating a fruitful experience. No fall frost on this crop. An aroma of super stone tropical fruit, citrus peachy. And it tastes just like it smells, citrus stone fruit salad, as juicy as it gets. A light almost watery mouthfeel, with no hops or bitters, just a flat dry juice infused finish. They cut loose with the juice.
We’ve sampled Juicy Ass, Juicy Fruit, and Juicy J. Then there was Juiced AF, Juicy Haze and Big & Juicy. We’ve had a Henderson’s Best, but this one is Anderson’s Juiciest, and quite possibly the juiciest IPA we’ve ever had. ** Hence my comment that Juicy may be a misnomer. The name Juiciest IPA may be more apropos.
After saying all that, I appreciated the juice, but some hops would have been nice to create some balance. For Juicy IPA lovers, this one you could really get juiced on.
