I had a hankerin’ to drink curiously, and being a chartered member of the curious club, I know there’s no better beer to do that with than a Something in the Water curious craft. An uncommon K-town common per say? A Painted Lake Peach perhaps? A Tortuga the tortoise tonight? My standard answer on any multiple choice test, none of the above. Time to saddle up to the bar at Cooger & Dark’s Pandemonium Shadow Show because Something Dark this way comes! *
And dark it is, dark as Mr. Dark’s malevolent heart, with no head apparent. A full malt cocoa aroma, with some aroma to spare, smells scrumptious. The taste is a no holds barred strong cocoa with roasted malt, full flavoured and tasty. An almost blackberry sweet to it to go. It’s a classic dark with something extra, complex and intense. Full flavour from start to finish, unlike most brews it seems to gain flavour as it goes. Aggressive, and yes definitely intense. How intense you ask. More intense than a poker hand for the pot between Bella Lugosi, Daniel Day Lewis, Marlon Brando, and Dennis Hopper.

Hopper’s all in!
I enjoyed this brew, but I also recognize it’s not for everyone. Its complexity and intensity may well throw some people off, it seems to me it is a dark made by dark lovers for dark lovers. Brace for impact, Something Dark this way comes.
